Valencia, Spain – Great Paella and 2 Starbucks Mugs!

After getting off the Celebrity Constellation cruise ship we hopped on a bus which took about 30 minutes to get to the outer edge of the downtown core of Valencia. Overcast skies but decent weather, luckily no rain.

As you follow the crowds in, you will see open areas which you gravitate towards.

Before we got into town, we did some research and new that there were four Starbucks here. We ran to each one in search of our mugs in which we found the City Collection Valencia. However, in one store, we found the You Are Here Valencia and were jumping for joy! Apparently, they are holding them off until all the older ones sell.

Once our adrenaline came down, we settled at a place to have the famous Spanish Paella. We are huge fans of this dish as we have enjoyed it in Madrid, Lisbon and even Toronto.

After lunch we walked around and even found a Hard Rock Cafe. We are just starting our collection of Hard Rock Pins, but with so many variations, we can’t collect them all like we do with Starbucks mugs.

Our walk around town lead us to The Central Market of Valencia, a huge indoor market of meats, fruits, vegetables, cooked foods and seafood. The choices are endless.

As the third largest city of Spain (behind Madrid and Barcelona), the city is vibrant. A huge garden, Jardin de Monforte, surrounds the North to East side of the entire downtown core. Bridges span across and underneath you can see endless soccer fields.

Once the capital of Spain, you can see the rich heritage here. Enjoy the fine foods of Valencia and especially Paella.

Thanks
