KOBE Teppanyaki & BBQ – Markham, Ontario, Canada – Great Food and Entertainment!

We heard of this new restaurant from a friend of ours and decided to give it a try.  It opened 3 weeks ago so everything is still brand new.  The service was great and they had lot’s of staff on hand to make sure that customers were taken care of.

My wife ordered the Lobster Tail with AAA Filet Mignon and I ordered the Salmon Filet, Angus Beef Striploin and Chicken Filet.  Since this is teppanyaki, you all get a starter of Miso Soup and Salad.  They also serve you three sauces for your liking.  Along the way, they were also serving extra pieces to us so we got a shrimp, a scallop and cuttlefish as extras.

Overall, the food was excellent and we were consistently asked if we needed anything extra like napkins and our tea was always topped off.  We have to say, the service was exceptional, we hope it continues at that level as it really lead to a great customer experience.

Although I’m not one to usually order chicken, but this chicken was very tender and extremely tasty.  My striploin was good but because my better half ordered the lobster tail with AAA filet mignon, the filet mignon was so much more tender and melts almost like butter in your mouth.  If we didn’t have it to compare to each other, I would have been content with my striploin as the flavour was very good.  My salmon was also cooked perfectly, where it was still pink and glistening inside.  The outside had a nice cook on it, not too dark or too seared.

Near the end, we all got beef fried rice along with beansprouts.  We were all pretty full.  As mentioned, our friend arranged our reservation so the owner of the restaurant gave us a special grapefruit ice cream and one other dish to share.  It topped off a great dinner with even a greater surprise as the dish was a spectacular purple rice sushi, topped with fois gras, caviar and edible gold flakes.  It was sooooo good!  Take a look at our closeup pictures, you’ll want to go just for that sushi dish alone!

Our chef was entertaining and funny without being overbearing.  He talked to everyone and made you feel at ease.  His cooking was excellent and would take the time to take pictures with a few kids that were seated with us for their birthday.  We haven’t been to teppanyaki for a while because the last several we went to were disappointing.  Now we have a new place to go and have a great dinner with entertainment!

Tip:  Make a reservation and plan to spend over 2 hours there.  Relax, bring a hearty appetite and enjoy the meal with friends and even meet some new ones at your table.  Here is their site:  www.kobebbq.ca
