Georgetown, Cayman Islands – Thought It Would Be Better, A Bit Disappointed
We knew getting into Grand Cayman our cruise ship would have to tender but what we didn’t expect is that there would be 6 other cruise ships there already! Among those was the Regal Princess which we’ve been on twice, it was nice to see her again.

Once on land, we walked around and found that this port was nothing special. We thought with all the banking around and the Cayman Island dollar being stronger than the US dollar, we expected to see some nice buildings, tourist attractions, etc., but nada. Just the regular shopping stores like other ports, small streets and souvenir stores. Yes, there were nice stores like Rolex, Cartier and we did find a Hard Rock Cafe which we got another pin, but that was it. We walked around from one end of town, turned around and walked to the other end and going into as many stores as we could to kill some time. Two hours later, we were bored and went back to the ship.

We really wished we could have enjoyed the Cayman Islands, but we left it quite disappointed. We knew there were some great tourist attractions like Sting Ray Beach but unfortunately, our time there was cut short as a storm was rolling in and our ship needed to leave port 2 hours earlier than scheduled.

Thanks
