P.F. Chang’s China Bistro – Fort Lauderdale, Florida – Disappointing This Time
Since we were going to go on a cruise ship the next day, we thought we would have some Asian food before 7 straight days of predominantly Caucasian food. We haven’t been to P.F. Chang’s for years as the one we had in Toronto shut down quite some time ago. It’s normally not too bad, not the greatest either but you can rely on getting decent food.
This time, though, we found it was not up to par. We ordered Cauliflower Tempura, Beef with Broccoli, and lastly, Chang’s Lobster & Shrimp Rice. We had a similar dish in Milan called Bang Bang Cauliflower and thought the Cauliflower Tempura would have been good. It ended up being seriously soaked in oil. Crispy became heavy and unpleasant with all the oil in your mouth. The Beef with Broccoli ended being the star dish as it wasn’t overly done and the beef was tasty. The worst ended up being the Chang’s Lobster & Shrimp Rice. The lobster couldn’t be found and the shrimp was similar to the cauliflower and completely soaked in oil. Even without the lobster, we thought the rice would be good but the whole dish had no flavour, it ended up being disappointing on so many levels that we had to return it.
So we left quite disappointed with the quality and taste of the food this time. We know that P.F. Chang’s can be better and we have had better there in the past.
