Review – Starbucks Reserve Roastery Milan, Italy

We were super excited to hit the Starbucks Reserve Roastery because we visited Milan a few years ago and no Starbucks were in the city yet. There are currently 6 Roastery’s in the world: Seattle, Shanghai, Milan, New York City, Tokyo and Chicago. We have been to the Shanghai one many times and will be visiting Seattle soon.

The beautiful building of the new Reserve Roastery Milan was the old Post Office building. They have seating out front and you are welcomed into the store with huge glass doors.

Once inside, it is a bustling array of people trying to find souvenirs, buy drinks and food, find seats and just looking around. We did it all!

It’s always a spectacle to see them break open a new bag of beans and roast them right there. Once they are done, you can hear the beans getting siphoned through the tubes and landing in the pods to be brewed right away. It doesn’t get fresher than this!

With a variety of areas to get different types of food and drink, did you know they even serve alcoholic beverages? Yes indeed they do. It’s upstairs and an adults only area. With 2300 square meters (25000 square feet) of space, it’s a huge area to explore and check out all the souvenirs from, mugs (our favourite!), clothing, pins, coffee beans, and even wood serving trays.

Of course, what would this place be without the food and coffee? Without further ado, here are the pics:

And like so many YouTube aviation videos doing “loo” reviews, well we opted not to because that would be just creepy with all the people around. But here is a shot of the hand washing station.

Every time we went we ended up buying not only food but mugs, a brass bean scoop, more mugs and did we mention mugs? All-in-all, we bought about 10 mugs here. Not to mention the other 3 You Are Here mugs that they just released of Turin, Milan and Rome. Our suitcase was getting damn heavy! We were there pretty much every day and we got to see the same staff and chatted with them quite a bit when they were in between customers. They were all so friendly and packed all our goods with extra care for our trip home.

Thanks
