SWISS Business Lounge A, Zurich Airport – Super Busy and Not Too Relaxing

After spending several hours in the SWISS Business Lounge E, we took the Skymetro which is the underground train connecting the airport terminals. We went to Terminal A and walked around a bit, it was definitely a busier terminal than E with more shops and eateries.

The SWISS Business Lounge A is located on the second floor and right next to it is the Senator Lounge.

SWISS Business Lounge A Entrance

This is one lounge that really felt like it was all business. It was busy, people were talking like big boss honchoes and others were on their laptops working feverishly to finish off that presentation for Elon Musk. It was so busy that even the entrance floor where there is nothing but lounge chairs were full. You have to head up the staircase to get to the main area which is where the washrooms, food and drinks are.

Lounge Area

With all the seating here, it was still packed and we couldn’t find a place to sit at all. We ended up heading up one more floor to the Silent Area and had to ask a gentleman if we could share the couch with him.

Amenities

As this lounge didn’t have a terrace to do any plane spotting, it did have a Smoker’s Terrace for those that needed a light. There was also a magazine wall, though it seemed to have less reading material than the Lounge E. The washroom’s were also a lot tighter than the Lounge E and they had to put in swinging doors as you can see straight in from the hallway.

The food

The food itself was almost identical to the Lounge E that day, except the Penne Pasta was a different variety. Overall, a decent spread with the hard liquor the most frequented stall.

Conclusion

The SWISS Business Lounge A offers showers as well, unfortunately, we didn’t have the time or need to take another shower so we didn’t get a chance to take pictures. But they are there on a first come, first serve basis.

This lounge definitely comes 2nd in our lounge hopping experience at Zurich Airport. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the SWISS Business Lounge E, which you can review here, and if you have a choice we would recommend that lounge. However, if your flight leaves from Terminal A, then this is probably the best you’ll find. It’s not that it was a bad lounge, it was probably the time of day which is why it was busy and very hard to find a place to sit and eat. Up in the Silent Area, people were talking out loud and although there were bed-like chairs to sleep in, there were not enough of them.
