Starbucks Mugs

We started seriously collecting Starbucks Mugs around 2010 when they were called City Icon Mugs. As we traveled, we loved the consistency of collecting something that could be found in most cities that we went to. Starbucks is pretty much everywhere with the exception of Italy and they had a consistent mug called the City Mug. We collected them for years adding to our collection of over 50 mugs and then they retired it.

The collection then changed to the You Are Here (YAH) Collection. It was a pretty nice change with nice colour palettes and a high quality mug. It is a bit shorter than the City Mug, a bit wider and the handle was thicker. Overall, we started to like the YAH Mug and started to collect them more and more. Just recently (the last 3-4 months) we found out that Starbucks has now moved on to the Been There Collection. We are not particular fans of this mug as it looks cartoonish and too busy.

Over the years we have been to great locations such as the Starbucks Reserve in Shanghai (30,000 square feet over two levels) and Toronto (a lot smaller at 3,000 square feet). We bought mugs there and some other collections from different cities. Our luggage usually consists of nothing but mugs!

We hope to still get more of the City Mugs as we found some still in our recent trip to Greece. We will post each one individually as time goes on so that you can view them all. In the meantime, here is our full collection as of writing (2018 October 30).
