Palazzo Matteotti Hotel, Autograph Collection – Milan, Italy
In Milan, we choose to stay at The Palazzo Matteotti, The Dedica Athology, Autograph Collection. An absolutely beautiful 5 star luxury hotel. From the moment we walked in, the doorman greeted us and took care of our belongings. We were checked in quickly and with no fuss at all. Up we went to the room where it was pleasantly large with separate areas for the washroom (near the entrance of the door) and around the other side was the shower area. The bed was comfortable and we have to say, the rooms are very quiet. You can’t hear anything outside as the doors are super solid, they must weigh 100 pounds!

We didn’t try the restaurant in the hotel as we wanted to explore outside for all the foods, more on that from my other posts about Milan.

The location of this hotel is so central. A five minute walk and you’re at the famous Piazza del Duomo where the Milan Cathedral is. Impossible to miss, no really, it’s huge! The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is also just across the street from the Duomo. A picturesque (from inside and outside) structure and the oldest mall in Milan. Just outside the hotel is a Versace store and just a couple of blocks away is the whole high end shopping district.
We thought we would need to use the Metro, but as we were right in the middle of it all, we never had to hop on.
Getting to the hotel from the Stazione Ferroviaria Cadorna (Cadorna train station) was easy. Once off the train, we saw taxis waiting. It was 7 Euros to get to the hotel.
The hotel was so nice, we don’t have a single criticism, the room was spotless, everything you need is there including Roberto Cavalli toiletries!

Tip: Unless you take a taxi from Malpensa Airport (which is far and can cost quite a bit), the next easiest way is to take the Malpensa Express train to Cadorna (not Central Station as that is further North). I believe it was 14 Euros (each person) and then from there, the taxi ride which was 7 Euros for us. If you are taking the train back to the airport, just make sure to ask which platform the train is leaving from as we found it to be a bit lacking in signage there.

Thanks
