Wimbledon Tennis Tournament- London, UK – Immaculate Grounds!
We didn’t even know if it would be possible to see Wimbledon but we planned our trip to London, nevertheless. Early in the morning, sitting in our hotel room, we were on our computers and trying to buy tickets that get released. Somehow, we hit the jackpot! We were able to buy tickets and even had to ask the front desk to print them for us. Thank you Park Lane Hotel for your help!
So next day, we were on our way taking the tube for about 50 minutes with one transfer to get to the Wimbledon area. Then after the tube, people pile into the cabs at 5 Euros a piece with as many as can fit and they shuttle you to the entrance of Wimbledon.
Once your ticket is scanned, you’re in! The grounds were quite large and just immaculately cared for.

There were so many great things to see that we have only seen on TV over the decades. The history of Wimbledon can be felt in the air and the excitement surrounds you as you walk around.

You always hear about Henman Hill or more lately, Murray Mound but it’s more impressive when you see it in person. The day wasn’t the warmest but the crowd didn’t care, they would bring their blankets and chairs and camp there all day long and watch the Centre Court on the big screen.

One area had posters up of past champions, so amazing just thinking about the history here.

Once we got in to the Centre Court we found our seats which were a bit high up and under the cover but we were just glad we got tickets!

That concluded the main matches on Centre Court so we headed up and went to another large court, I believe Court 2, in which Li Na was warming up for her match.

We walked around the grounds a bit more and then we found out that they moved the Sharapova match over to Centre Court because the first three matches finished so quickly! We ran back and got our seats to watch the match.

We had so much fun we didn’t want to leave but Wimbledon operates differently than the US Open or Australian Open so they don’t play too many late matches. We bought a Wimbledon towel for a keepsake and still use it to this day.
