Copenhagen, Denmark – Truly a Danish Treat!

We landed in Denmark direct from Toronto and couldn’t wait to see what the city had in store for us. We were staying at the AC Hotel and were really looking forward to it because we saw it on a TV show called Covert Affairs. We will cover this hotel in a separate blog. It was a cloudy weekend but at least it wasn’t raining. We took the Metro into the core of the city. There were great shops like pastries, jewelry, clothing, confectionery and especially LEGO!

Walking through the downtown core of Stroget takes you towards the City Hall Square. It’s spacious and you can see lot’s of people taking pictures here.

However, we couldn’t get enough of the pastries and turned back to get more!

The next day we walked to Tivoli Gardens. It is an amusement park that opened in 1843 and is the second oldest amusement park in the world. We had a fantastic time walking through the gardens and seeing the immaculate grounds of the Nimb Hotel right inside the gardens. There was even a self controlled robot cutting the grass. It was disguised as a bunny rabbit!

There were great rides like roller coasters, merry-go-rounds, scenic railway, not to mention, a theatre, bandstands, restaurants and cafes to keep you occupied for a fantastic day at Tivoli Gardens.

Of course, there are other areas in the city to roam around. We walked along a canal, saw more wonderful structures, ate more food and even saw an original Tesla Roadster Sport!

Thanks
