The St. Regis Hotel Venice, Italy Review – A Stunningly Beautiful Property and Room!

Starting our trip at The St. Regis, Venice, we were wondering if we were setting up ourselves for disappointment. I mean, how can it possibly get better after this? Well, we’ll worry about that later but for now, we’ll focus on this beautiful property.

It took a bit of finding to get to this property as we got off the plane, went down to the water and boarded the water taxi to take us to the St. Marks Square stop, about an hour and ten minutes ride. Next time we’ll take a private water taxi as this public water taxi was exhausting. There was construction all around the hotel so we had to circumnavigate our way through some narrow streets to find the courtyard into which was the entrance of The St. Regis Venice.

The front entrance of The St. Regis Venice.

Something about this property seemed familiar so after a bit of talking with the front desk, we found out this this was formerly The Westin Europa & Regina Venice which we actually stayed at 12 years ago. What really reminded us was the marble flooring in which they kept!

The sitting area is pure opulence, with coffered ceilings, huge crown molding, art deco walls right to the top and an absolute beautiful chandelier.

Just down the hallway is Gio’s that offers bar service and restaurant service in a lovely outdoor setting.

The St. Regis Venice is situated right off the water so you can grab a private water taxi to take you back to the airport or to the railway station which is where we were going after spending two lovely nights here.

Back inside the hotel was another smaller sitting room, just as lovely a setting as the larger one but more cozy and less traffic.

Our room was located in a bit of an odd area as it was halfway up a staircase with no other rooms near it. This is not to say that it wasn’t good, it was extremely nice and there was absolutely no noise from other customers staying there as there really wasn’t a hallway. Our room was quite massive, it was probably around 1000 square feet! Upon entering the door, there was a walk-in closet to the left with the iron board and a table console with the safe inside.

Once past the hallway entrance you enter the main room and it was huge. The bed was a full king size with a beautiful headboard and reading lights. A control panel below the lights controls all the lights throughout the room.

What really set this room apart was the massive bathroom! There’s a sliding door to enter and a glass shower directly to the left.

Walking past the glass shower, you get into the main bathroom area where you are greeted with the dual sinks, toilet, bidet and a stand-alone tub. The toiletries are just full-on with The St. Regis. You get all the usuals plus extras like deodorant cream, mouthwash, sewing kit, bath salts, a full size soap bar, talcum powder and even intimate cleanser.

The TV console and coffee stand are somewhat pedestrian compared to the rest of the room but they function, none-the-less.

The nightstand is also uneventful but it does the job.

However, what did stand out was the high quality slippers, made by Frette 1860. These were plush with a nice thick sole. We walked by the store in Venice and you can get towels, bed sheets and pretty much anything to do with fine linens.

It wouldn’t be Venice without some night shots. Here are a couple just outside Gio’s restaurant, the view could never get old!

The St. Regis Venice was an absolute treat to stay at. We were generally gone all day long in the hot summer sun so coming back to wash up and relax in this room was just incredible. The staff were very helpful and accommodated everything we needed. Calling down for a water taxi was easy as well and while we waited for a few minutes we took some last minute pictures before we sailed off into the sunset (in all honesty, it was daytime and we were going to the train station).
