The Pearle Hotel & Spa – Autograph Collection – Burlington, Ontario, Canada – A Great Getaway From Toronto
We had wanted to do a staycation to experience a hotel in Ontario. We did some checking as to where to stay, should we go up North to the Blue Mountain area? Should we stay in town and spend a couple of nights in downtown Toronto? We then came across a brand new hotel called The Pearle Hotel & Spa from the Autograph Collection and thought we could also drive over to Niagara Falls. So, we booked it and off we went!
After driving over to Burlington, we came up to a lively area right off the water and boy, did it look new!

We have to say, the staff were pretty amazing. Shane, Todd and Sydney were the main front staff that we talked to throughout our stay and we had a great time sharing stories and them explaining that this is the first Autograph Collection hotel in Ontario, Canada. They were very proud to explain the history of the area and how Pearle was the grandmother of the family that built this wonderful hotel-condominium complex.

Once we got to our room, there was a slight hiccup in which the water piping seemed quite loud right behind the TV so we went back down and asked about it. The front desk sent Clinton, the engineer, and he came up and checked it out. He came back a few minutes later telling us there wasn’t much he could do but he already checked with the front desk and had another room to show us. We went to that room and it was much better. So many thanks to Clinton for being proactive and quick on his feet to find us another room without us having to head back down again.
The room was very clean as expected from a 3 month old hotel. One detail that we liked was the key card as it was wood and shows their commitment to using sustainable materials.

The room was not huge but well appointed and the Zenology soaps were super nice. I had showers just for the sake of using the soaps! One note on the room though was that the sound proofing from the hallway just came right through. So we could really hear people talking even all the way from the elevator which was probably about 50 feet away, sound just travelled throughout. Speaking of sound, we could also hear people outside as there was a nightclub across the street. I think any other facing would not have this problem but then you wouldn’t have this lovely view:

The hotel was bustling with guests getting ready for weddings. Shane explained that they have events 5-6 days a week with at least 3-4 weddings on the weekends. We didn’t crash any but we did try to sneak a peak late in the evening. As mentioned, this is a spa hotel so you choose to be pampered before the big day.

If you choose to have a workout, the gym is well equipped and these amenities are shared with the condominium through a separate hotel entrance. You have all the gym equipment as well as numerous treadmills, elliptical machines and bikes.

If running, biking and lifting weights isn’t your thing and you would rather go for a dip in the pool, well they have that too. And we took full advantage of it. It is a nice large infinity pool with sectioned sitting areas for you to relax. We even fell asleep for a bit.

After a dip in the pool, you can take a stroll outside and that is exactly what we did. The area is lively with people walking, sitting on the grass having picnics, sitting near the water and kids playing in the sand.

Now, you must be getting hungry if you have made it this far into our review of The Pearle Hotel & Spa – Autograph Collection. So were we! We tried to book the Isabelle Restaurant but they were full being a Saturday night, but we were able to get a seat later in the evening at around 8:30pm. We have to say that the food was a bit of a hit and miss. Some dishes were great but some mains were not quite up-to-par.

So after a meal, you can’t turn down dessert!

After a decent meal, we walked around the grounds for a bit and then turned in for the night. Next morning we went to eat at Earth to Table Bread Bar. This was actually the second time we went but to condense things a bit, we saved it for the last. Now, if we had gotten the eggs benedict for dinner last night, that would have been a major hit! You can order it here, but the kitchen downstairs makes it and brings it up, it was the best eggs beni we have ever had!

We had a super two days at The Pearle Hotel & Spa – Autograph Collection. The area around is old town charm at its finest. The hotel has many offerings from the spa treatments (although get ready to open your wallet but it’s worth it to pamper yourself), full gym, infinity pool and just the walkable area to enjoy the town and get a gelato. There are many restaurants just a block away as we did try an Italian one the first night.
All-in-all, we were glad we did a staycation here and would like to thank the staff, especially Shane, for the lovely welcome and conversation.
Thanks
