SWISS International Air Lines A321 Business Class – Is This The Worst Business Class Seat?
After a 7 hour layover in Zurich Airport, we boarded on a single aisle Airbus A321 plane on SWISS International Air Lines. We knew that this wasn’t a lie flat seat! However, the seat did look kind of sad.
There were three seats across but in typical European fashion, the middle seat is “blocked”. And what we mean by “blocked” it is where they put the water bottles so that nobody sits there.

What I just don’t get is why bother putting a seat in the middle if no one can use it? Why not put a 2-2 layout with nicer, wider seats instead? It just baffles me…
SWISS International Air Lines Sans Entertainment
There wasn’t much to look at either as there were no screens to watch anything. I guess I could have took out my phone to watch something but didn’t want to hold it the whole time while everyone else saw what I was watching.

The plane itself was in decent shape and clean. With less people up front, we didn’t have any problem finding a spot to stow our hand carry luggage.
SWISS International Air Lines Business Class Food
For such a short flight, the food was pretty decent. It wasn’t a hot meal for dinner but the cold cuts, cheese and dessert all tasted very good. We have to say, the flight attendants were outstanding. They were both very pleasant and courteous. As they just served the business class passengers there wasn’t a whole lot of room up in the front cabin. With just a few rows you could tell they were present but they weren’t hovering over you all the time.
We did visit two lounges before the flight SWISS Business Lounge A and SWISS Business Lounge E. However, the food on the flight was just as good if not better.
The View
As it was a short flight, no real entertainment and a bit hard to have a conversation without everyone listening, we enjoyed the views out of the windows. The Swiss Alps are really a site to behold.
Conclusion
For business class, this is a product that really needs to be updated. As it was such a short flight, it was fine though and got us to where we needed to be. The service and the food were fantastic for our flight.
